Approach to Mediation

"WITH A JURY YOU JUST NEVER KNOW..."

The above quote is one I give to virtually every litigant I represent, regardless of the strength or weakness of their case. Having tried many cases before juries in my regular practice, I have often seen verdicts that I could not have predicted – sometimes good, sometimes bad.

What I appreciate most about mediation is that it gives litigants an opportunity to be creative and practical in coming up with solutions that a jury simply can't do. It's also sometimes the first time the parties have all been "under one roof " – real or virtual – to discuss the issues. Because of that, I've seen cases I thought were destined for trial resolve at mediation in ways that saved the litigants money, stress, and time. That is why I wanted to become a mediator and I try to bring that creative and practical approach to the every case I mediate.
